Constrictor
Welcome to the fictional Shadow of the Nerd Universe! Here, you will learn of a fantastic cast of characters, loosely split into two factions: The International Alliance and The Intelligence Foundation. Both are locked in a battle for supremacy across the world and into space.
A human agent of the S.H.I.E.L.D., Frank Payne posed as a costumed “supervillain” in The Corporation, Frank’s last name changed to Schlicting, he was given a costume with electrified metal coils, and became “The Constrictor.” After a nervous breakdown, he’s now a criminal and wealthy with approximately $168-million to his name.
Constrictor was dangerous to begin with. Trained by S.H.I.E.L.D., criminal, and terrorist organizations, he possesses knowledge that gives him an edge on the battlefield. Combine this with his newly acquired wealth and those vibranium coils capable of electrical charges, and he is a low key threat that can mobilize at a moment’s notice.
Typically operating in a freelance capacity, Constrictor acts as financier and planner these days. He’s no stranger to getting his own hands dirty, but those days may be behind him. He’ll work with any side that offers him financial gain.
Chopper
Welcome to the fictional Shadow of the Nerd Universe! Here, you will learn of a fantastic cast of characters, loosely split into two factions: The International Alliance and The Intelligence Foundation. Both are locked in a battle for supremacy across the world and into space.
The CORPS doesn’t have the name recognition that their sister organization has, but Chopper doesn’t care. He’ll still detain you whether you know who he is or works for, or not. Chopper started out his adult life as a motorcycle racer, which did absolutely nothing for his bank account at the time, but honed skills which he now uses for The CORPS. His bank account grew, however, when he became Laguna Seca Grand Prix Champion just a few miles down the road from his hometown of Salinas, California.
Once Chopper was champion, he became bored with racing. He joined the California Highway Patrol, where he initially had trouble fitting in. Word of his ability to apprehend suspects regardless of the odds spread around the force, and he rose to the rank of sergeant.
As a sergeant, Chopper fell into a no man’s land of stagnation, career-wsie. Superiors were happy to heap responsibilities on Chopper, but unwilling to promote him where he’d be less likely to work on their teams. Chopper once again made a career change, working for Los Angeles SWAT and for various paramilitary and security groups before being recruited by The CORPs and given his own team.
Tactical Team 1, also known as “Top Flight,” is The CORPs premier apprehension and detention team. They specialize in high risk missions with the probability of loss of life. Chopper was meant to be on this team, and now he’s the leader.
Booker T
Welcome to the fictional Shadow of the Nerd Universe! Here, you will learn of a fantastic cast of characters, loosely split into two factions: The International Alliance and The Intelligence Foundation. Both are locked in a battle for supremacy across the world and into space.
Booker T grew up in a bad neighborhood. He was a single dad trying to make ends meet by working at a factory and steering clear of the criminal element in his neighborhood. With an aptitude for combat sports and an interest as a father in keeping his nose clean, Booker dodged trouble when possible and fought against it when absolutely necessary.
He soon got involved with small-time professional wrestling thanks to his size and appearance. Early on, he was known as GI Bro, which was a play on his combat skills. He was soon picked up by World Championship Wrestling (WCW), where he became World Heavyweight Champion and multiple-time World Tag Team Champion with his older brother, Stevie Ray, whom Booker brought along with him to WCW.
When WCW folded, Booker found himself in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and Total Nonstop Action (TNA), winning heavyweight titles in both companies. Behind the scenes, however, the government was calling on Booker T to win battles for them outside the squared circle. Forming an organized crime task force, the U.S. wanted Booker to take on the leadership role. Unbelievably, he accepted, naming the task force after his old wildly successful tag team, Harlem Heat.
Behind the scenes, Booker T takes on missions with Harlem Heat that conventional law enforcement can’t or won’t touch. Harlem Heat is the last line of defense between innocent civilians and those terrible people nationwide who seek to do them harm.

Booker T Custom GI Joe Action Figure
For your enjoyment, I have posted my first action figure project. It is a 4-inch custom Booker T figure done up in GI Joe style. It is now part of my Shadow of the Nerd collection. The figure is inspired by the old Harlem Heat Booker T from his days in World Championship Wrestling (WCW) alongside brother Stevie Ray.
GI Joe File Card
With each of my custom figures, I will create a GI Joe-style file card with background information on the character in the Shadow of the Nerd universe. Here is the fruit of that effort for Booker T, thanks to a lot of playing around in Adobe Photoshop CS5.
Michael Strider’s Last Match: Commemorative Art Print
I could go on for hours about my fondness for Michael Strider, being friends with his younger brother through high school, or how I came to discover that he was a wrestler in the first place. I’ll keep it short by saying he was a great wrestler and deserved a real crack at the big leagues. If this were years ago, he would have been a national-level superstar.
I was fortunate to be in attendance on June 2, 2012 for Metro Pro Wrestling in Kansas City, Kansas for his final match. It was an absolute brawl with Adam Pearce, former NWA Heavyweight Champion. At the door, I was given this great limited print by Rob Schamberger of Strider, commemorating his career and his last match.
I have two copies of this print, and they are now part of my Shadow of the Nerd collection.

What’s cool about this comic book series for me is that it was the first real negotiation I had with another personality in the wrestling business as my own entity. As the owner of Missouri Wrestling Revival at the time and also owner of a small hobby business, I talked to Headlocked creator Michael Kingston, purchasing a large quantity of the comic book from him at a very low price in exchange for him placing Michael Strider in the Jerry Lawler issue of the comic book.
“Headlocked” by Michael Kingston
Headlocked is a professional wrestling comic book developed by Visionary Comics Studio, that debuted in 2007. It has featured a painted cover painted by WWE Hall of Famer, Jerry “The King” Lawler. The series was created by Michael Kingston with art by Randy Valiente.
